The Renegade Pigs is a fraternal motorcycle club whose members are active or retired public safety professionals who ride American made motorcycles. Membership requirements are strict. Membership in our organization is something that is earned after a trial period of at least six months and after a potential member demonstrates that he is in fact ready to represent our organization in the proper light. The phrase 'if it is worth having, it is worth working for' would be an excellent way to describe potential membership in our club. Our members hold dear the concepts of loyalty, brotherhood, friendship and patriotism. We have little patience for those who needlessly inject politics into public safety professions and our members always try to remember why it was that we entered our professions to begin with.
We currently have over 35 chapters in 15 states. Each chapter takes part in their own social and philanthropic activities, and it is quite possible that you will see us on our bikes as you drive around the state. We are very active in the charitable contributions arena on both a local and national level, particularly with those causes that benefit public safety officers, their families and children in general. Make no assumptions about us based on our leather gear and sometimes uncombed hair! We are all dedicated (and often highly decorated) police officers and firefighters who remain among the most productive and loyal in our various public safety agencies. Stereotyping us based on appearances would be both unfair and highly erroneous.
There are currently two RPMC chapters based in Maryland, one in the immediate DC area and another in the eastern MD/Baltimore regions. Unlike some other public safety motorcycle clubs, we do require potential members to go through a 'prospect' period before membership can be earned. If you are looking for a club that will provide you with membership immediately, please accept our best wishes in your search because this is not the organization for you. If however you are an active or retired public safety professional and would like to learn more about our brotherhood, please visit our national site at www.renegadepigs.com and click on 'become a member.' Maybe you have what it takes to join what could become your extended family.
Ride safe!
